Lately, I had a chance to help my friend photographer TJ Cameron to photograph a wedding of Emily and Aaron. He also invited two more photographers Ray Hendricks and Jason Groupp to help him film some video footage. The wedding took place in St. Mary’s Cathedral and reception in The Nines Hotel in downtown Portland.
Here is some images from that wedding:
I got a new sample of press printed Guest Sign In Book. It features a metallic photo cover, 8.5×11 horizontal format, matte page finish. When I design such book, I put one or two images from your engagement photo session on one side and leave the other one blank. Your guests can write you their messages during reception. You get to keep the book and imagine how great it would be to open it on your first anniversary and reread what your friends wrote you. Have a nice day!

I have shot another beautiful wedding. Ellen and Taras tied the knot at David Hill Winery near Forest Groove, Oregon. Congratulations, guys! It was a really great party and we had a lot of fun! Check out some of my favorite images and my comments below.

I have special feelings about this wedding. First of all, Jessica and Jake are our parishioners from St. Irene Byzantine Catholic Church in Portland and I am really glad, that I was able to be a part of their wedding day, document it and get amazing shots. Second, they decided to have their ceremony performed according to traditional catholic orthodox wedding. This is the same ceremony what we have in Ukraine and what I am my wife had when we were getting married. And there was a reason for that. Jessica’s father has Ukrainian roots and tries to keep Ukrainian traditions and even say a few words in Ukrainian.I have to say that the ceremony itself is very old, long and has many parts. The wedding starts on the back of the church where priest (father) does some reading blesses the rings and put them on bride and groom’s fingers. They don’t exchange the rings, the father puts them on. Then they walk down to the altar for the rest of the ceremony. One of the parts is when father, covers bride and groom’s hands and basically declares them husband and wife. Then they are are getting crowned as king and queen and father walks them three times around the altar. The special part is when father blesses the bride and does some readings for her. After the wedding ceremony is over there is a traditional Divine Liturgy with communion at the end. The whole ceremony took almost two hours.Congratulations to Jessica and Jake!PS. All wedding images are available at http://clients.theoleksandr.com. On last Friday I photographed a wedding of two incredible people Shelly and Todd. They got married in The View Point Inn in Columbia Gorge. We were very lucky to get great sunny and warm weather that day after the entire week of cold and rain. Flowers and decorations were provided by Carolyn S. Kilfoil from Canova Design. She also decorated a wedding cake.
Shelly and Todd looked very happy and so much in love with each other. Todd is a super nice guy, very funny and easy going. He was so happy to see Shelly after his long trip to Europe. They very smiling and laughing all day.
The View Point Inn provides incredible view on Columbia Gorge and we were able to catch beautiful sunset that day. Congratulation, guys, on your wedding. It was my pleasure to photograph you that day!
Check out a slide show of 113 images (about 3 min):
