I had this photo session last summer in Lviv, Ukraine. We decided to go to House of Scientists in Lviv downtown, which is empty almost all the time with free access. This location was often used by filmmakers. Now it is rented out for different meetings, events and weddings. Local photographers use it for bridal party photos sometimes. So, here is what came out from that photo session. Your comments are always welcome. Enjoy!
When I was in Ukraine last summer, I shot some portraits of my friends. Here is the first of several posts.

We want our clients to look at their best on images and we spend a lot of time retouching their portraits. Every images in album is getting retouched and enhanced. We have recorded our typical retouching process of one of my grooms. Here is what we normally do:

I haven’t shot any film for about 8 years, since I got my first digital camera. Lately, I have borrowed old Kiev 88 CM a medium format camera from a friend to try it out and see how images might turn out. These are some images from a quick session of my friend Vasyl. Check out the last image. I shot it back lit with bright sun behind. Film could handle such huge dynamic range just fine. Incredible. I can even see the sun’s disk in there.

We were walking in downtown last weekend when I took this picture. I saw this garage door and pulled kids for a quick photo. I told them hold their hands. I took 5 frames and let them go. I like this picture the most for their expressions. The lighting is not the best one, I shot it with available light at ISO 3200, 1/30, f2.8. But I think it is the case when expression beats perfection. What do you think?

Marissa and Blaine were the winners of a free photo session. Check out some images from their session:
